Goodbye Mac, Hello PC

For my birthday, Kyle built me a new desktop.
My laptop has been getting slower and slower even after being fixed.
So I agreed to let him get me a new one.
However, it's taking FOREVER to switch everything over since I'm going from everything Apple back to a PC.
I'm still slightly sad to be switching away from my Mac, but I love the new computer
At the moment I can't get any pictures off of my phone!
Hopefully we'll get it all switched soon and I'll be able to make a real post!

Bits and Pieces

Spring Break was wonderful.
Unfortunately realty hit and it's taken me a few days to get back into the swing of things.

Randomness from the past week include:

1// Made my favorite bread (recipe to come!)
2// We bought jellybeans around Easter.
Kyle keeps leaving me piles of my favorite colors. This one was on the side of the bed.

3// We've had some crazy rainy weather.
There was even a tornado warning at school the other day!
4// I hate making bacon on the stove because it always pops at me.
Kyle decided using his sunglasses would be the appropriate way to avoid splatter.
5//Got my birthday reward on my Starbucks card!
Can't wait for my birthday!
6// Kyle started looking into building me a desktop computer this week.
I'm sad to switch back from my mac, but excited to have a computer with no issues again!

Do Opposites Attract?

One of the downfalls of going to work so early in the morning is no music!
Seriously, I search through every channel and am lucky to hear one or two songs.
I do get to hear all the morning talk shows.
Typically it's not too thrilling, but every once in awhile it provides a good discussion topic.
Recently the topic was if couples work better if they are really similar or opposite.
Apparently, dating sites match people based on how many things they have in common.

Kyle and I probably would never have been matched.
Core values and goals, of course, but the day to day things not so much.
I'm a first born, this means I like organization, planning, and following the rules.
I don't tend to bend much.
Kyle is a third born, baby of the family.
He is super go with the flow, not easily phased, who cares if we're late type person.
 He is crazy laid back.
Kyle builds computers and plays video games.
Sometimes he drives me crazy.
I mean, what is a goal oriented, go by the book person supposed to do when confronted with someone who could care less about her well laid plans?
I never am late, ever. Kyle likes to leave when things start.
I knew what college I wanted to go to, I went.
I knew what I wanted to do when I got a job, I found the best program and got my Master's.
That's just not Kyle.
But, if Kyle was just like me we probably wouldn't be together.

I like to read and watch TV

Thankfully, we did attract, opposite and all.
We truly balance each other out.
I'd like to think I make Kyle more conscientious about what's going on around him.
And maybe a little more organized.
I know that he had made me more relaxed.
He might not always see it, but I know it's true.
I'm okay with being a little late most of the time.
If things don't go exactly as planned I can handle it.
I don't even bother him immediately to clean up things.
Immediately is the key word here people,  lets not get crazy.

Neither of us are perfect, but I like to think that we're perfect for each other.
We work well with each other.
We keep each other on track and help balance the other out.
We still agree on the big things and we work around the little things.
In the end, I don't think it matters if you are the same or opposite as long as you are willing to commit to that person no matter what comes your way.
Committing to each other when it's hard to get along and when it seems like the easiest thing in the world.
If you're committed to each other, then you can get through the days when you just plain don't like them. And some days that's perfectly okay.

Hillbilly Babies, DIY Weddings, and Malfunctioning Macs

My mac is back!! My hard drive had to be replaced, but thankfully they were able to save everything for me!

I was able to get my new layout design up and running! I wanted something simple that flowed throughout the whole page.
What do you think?
My interview went extremely well. However, there is now a hiring freeze in place in my county. Hopefully it'll be lifted soon. I need a job!!

PhotobucketHere are some of my favorite posts from my blog sponsors this week!

50 Shades of Bedtime: Heather talks about co-sleeping with her adorable son Ben.

Mr. and Mrs. Chastain: Sarah talks about her gorgeous DIY wedding in this multi-post story. Her wedding was simply stunning. I definitely envy her all of her creative ideas!

In other fun news, my laptop has been highlighting/deleting text as well as inserting the cursor all on it's own accord. Macbooks are not supposed to be able to do that! It has been a pain in the butt. Even more frustrating because I can't figure out how to fix it.

The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

And the phone call that turned it all around.

Some days just seem to be like that, nothing goes the way you plan.

This morning I work up crazy early so I went back to sleep, only to sleep through my alarm clock. I hate waking up later than I plan!

Comcast knocked on my door for something with the last tenant who lived here! They never changed their address and not only are we getting their mail, but now were having people come by!

After spending the morning running errands I came back home ready to eat. I heated up some leftovers and as I turned to go eat the entire bowl fell out of my hands. Potatoes, carrots, and chicken covered in Italian dressing flew everywhere, including our hall rug.

I cleaned everything up, spot shot the carpet hoping to avoid ants and started again.
The next time I came in the front door the entrance way was completely covered in ants, despite the raid that had been sprayed. Where are you coming from tiny ants!!!

While I was waiting for my pan to heat up I decided to check my email. My computer was frozen. Restarted it and went to put my quesadilla on the stove. Came back to the gray screen of death! I frantically start trying to figure out how to fix it since I literally was planning on backing it up today so we could reformat it this weekend. At this point I smell something burning. I freak out and run to the kitchen where my quesadilla is black.

My computer flashes rapidly between these two pictures and the normal apple.

Two lunches and a computer down...

I call my dad since he had problems with his Mac recently to see if he has any idea what to do. Of course, as my luck would have it, he has no idea. Now my poor laptop has an appointment to see if it can be saved and if it's even worth it at this point to fix it.

I had to drive my laptop to my parents so my dad could take it in since I wasn't able to. It starts pouring. I then spend two hours waiting for my realtor to be available to give her a check that I've been trying to get to her since we moved.

It was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

Until....
I got a call from an amazing elementary school down here for my first job interview!
Hopefully all goes well and I'm employed before school starts!

"May Contain Awesome."

For forever months, Kyle has been wanting to build a new computer. He has had his laptop for over 6 years now, and it just hasn't been working as well as it should have for awhile now. For example, he brings a fan with him when he carries around his laptop or else it will completely overheat. The poor fan works so hard it's a constant background noise to our lives. Not really what you want in a laptop...

So we began to look into what was needed to build a desktop. For my graduation gift I got an iPad, so Kyle felt like he should get his new computer too. We finally decided to take the plunge and for days boxes of computer parts piled up around our tiny apartment. Despite being sick for over a week Kyle somehow managed to feel well enough to build the computer the second all the parts made it here.

My husband is super nerdy cool!
